On May 22 the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy will gather leading international experts at the Higher School of Economics to discuss the future world order. The roundtable will focus on the role of sanctions in current international relations, the possible endgame of the new US-Russian confrontation, and the outlook for the liberal international and economic order.

Representatives of the U.S. and Russian academic and expert societies will discuss:
• the implications of the US-Russian confrontation and how each side perceives its outcome and ramifications in the short and mid-term;
• the role of sanctions in the Russia-West relations and what purposes they serve;
• current trade wars and their influence on international economic integration and liberalization.
• alternative approaches to the US-Russian cooperation (in the realms of Arctic Space, Cyber security, Greater Eurasia etc.)
